The End

Andrew lives in Portland, Oregon, near the confluence of the Willamette and Columbia Rivers, in the shadow of a dormant volcanic cinder cone named Mt. Tabor.
it was the end of something,
and so we grew sad
according to how much we'd loved it.
now, nothing
but our great variety of sadnesses
and for some
a seed of instinct suggesting
something else
may eventually begin.
